Miami Valley Hospital senior day care center to close

Demand for the program has dropped and the operating costs are proving to be too high.

The day care senior center at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton is to close to save on costs.

Fewer seniors have been using the facility, which is almost 30 years old, and the low demand has prompted the hospital to redeploy its funds elsewhere.

It costs the center $100 to to run the facility per client per day. However, private patients pay just $49 a day and those who qualify for a state subsidy pay $41 a day. Read more
