Privatisation means the facility cannot stay open.

The Pierce Senior Center in Flint is set to reduce its opening hours following the decision to privatise the golf course where it is located.

The Pierce Park Golf Course has been leased out to Flint City Golf and the center will now be used as a banqueting facility. However, it will stay open for at least 15 hours a week to provide seniors with a place to socialise and take part in specialists activities. None of the activities will be funded by the senior millage because the center has been downgraded to a Level 1 facility. Read more
